Method to "find" specific midi notes in regions?

So I'm probably going to be attacked here for not being musical and keeping it real, but I was wondering if there was a search like function in Logic where I can quickly select a mid track or region(s), and search for specific notes, ie. C, C#, D, etc.

The reason I would like to do this is to quickly find 'wrong' notes not part of the key/scale of the track I'm working in. Yes I know I can just use my ears, but was wondering if such a function still exists or not...

Select a MIDI region, open the Event List (press E). Each note (if notes are NOT filtered out) will show in the Event List. If you want to search for a specific note, you can select the note in the Event List then Edit>Select Equal Events.

You could also choose Edit>Select Similar Events which will select the same note no matter which octave it is.

There may be other ways to do this but this is one way.

In the Piano Roll editor click on a note you want to select on the keyboard on the left hand side. This will select all those notes in that region and you can use the KC shift+s to select those notes in other octaves. Holding down the shift key while clicking on the keyboard allows you to select multiple notes.

HTH,

Alan.

When I have something such as 40 small regions of midi on one track and click the track in arrange to highlight all midi regions, and go into the piano roll, and click the note I want, selecting equal events does nothing for me, it only works if I select one midi region, but not multiple regions...

In the case of multiple regions you are better off doing what Alan suggested. You can select all of the regions that you want to show up in the Piano Roll then in the Piano Roll click on the note you want to select on the keyboard to the left hand side of the PR and that note will be selected in all regions selected.
