Thankfully, the guy directing it didn't need a synced track (just something that sounded like a pop song), because I discovered I was at a loss as to how to make beats match to scene cuts. I made all of the markers using the "detect cuts" function in the video global track, but then those would of course move whenever I adjusted the tempo. Upon reading this today I've figured out that that's because I didn't have them locked to SMPTE. So I'll do that. But the question that I haven't been able to find the answer to is whether or not there's a way to make beats, or bars, line up with those markers automatically, and have the tempo adjust itself to make that happen.
