JetLab
Sometimes during recording comes deleting and all that good stuff. I've noticed that on some recordings there will be a quick blurr at the beginning of my song that seems to be something I've previously recorded in the same project. Again, It occurs at the beginning of my song but there is no region where it is making the sound. What is the cause of this and is there a way to avoid it in future recordings? It happens quite often to me. Something in the bin perhaps? Will I need to always be going back and forth to the bin? Clueless here. Thanks for the input. David Nahmani
Choose Options > Audio > Delete All Fade Files and play your song again. The problem should disappear.
JetLab
Excellent. Thanks David. Any suggestions on how to avoid this from even happening in the first place?
CarlosUnderground
Hey David. Will this affect any automation fades?
karp47
Hey David. Will this affect any automation fades? it doesn't delete all 'fades' from your session. It only deletes the fade files which get refreshed upon the next playback.
karp47
Excellent. Thanks David. Any suggestions on how to avoid this from even happening in the first place? David would know a whole lot more about this than me but from what I understand there's not a whole lot you can do to avoid it. Now, I may be completely wrong but I remember reading somewhere that third party plugins and logic often have something in the coding that creates this problem. Some sort of dispute between Apple and third party plugin creators (this could be totally untrue though) and this can cause random bursts of noise at the start of a session. (changing your sample rate, disabling and then enabling core audio generally fixes this)
David Nahmani
Excellent. Thanks David. Any suggestions on how to avoid this from even happening in the first place? Not really, you're just suffering from a corrupted fade file, that happens. When it does, you delete the fade file, and when you next press play, Logic recreates a new one for you. At least it's an easy fix.
JetLab
No worries, I can live with it. Thanks again for the quick response. I'm curious now what is taking place that creates the fade file in the first place? If that's too deep a question I understand. Just geeking out a little. David Nahmani
When you draw a fade, the next time you press play, Logic "renders" the fade to an audio file called the fade file. Later when the playhead reaches the beginning of that fade, Logic actually stops playing the regions on the track and instead plays that section of the fade file. If you listen to the fade file you'll hear a bunch of all your fades throughout the entire project, like a big mess. Why do fade files become corrupt I'm not entirely sure, but when they do you hear bits of tracks in places where they shouldn't be.
JetLab
Hey David, Sorry it took so long for me to implement your fix but after doing so I find that I still have the problem. I'm not positive but I think it happens when I move an audio region by dragging it to a different location in the arrange window. Just a guess. I've also been option dragging audio regions as well. Any thoughts?
