furrytoes
Does anyone know what is the procedure now for upgrading to Logic Pro 9 (MacStore) from Logic Express? Will I have to reinstall plugins etc or is the upgrade handled explicitly and everything is ported across?

fisherking
there IS no upgrade path from logic express anymore; you simply buy logic pro from the app store. a shame, really. i was going to do this, but am going to wait for L10....which we'll ALL have to buy anyway. Lpro will take the place of LE. so you'll have all the same plugins, etc PLUS some 'new' ones...
David Nahmani
there IS no upgrade path from logic express anymore; you simply buy logic pro from the app store. a shame, really. Two days ago, upgrading from Express to Pro would have cost you $299. Today it costs you $199. Look on the bright side!
fisherking
it IS a good deal, but nothing i need. i do wish that apple had an upgrade path; to me, anyway, seems unfair. but no biggie, will (im)patiently wait forL10..
beej
There are no more upgrade paths. Everyone that wants, say, Logic 10 will pay the same price, the app price, regardless of what they already own. App pricing is basically the same as the old upgrade pricing, so no one "loses" out, really.
