fabriciom
So I tried this with 3 different programs and ended up with the same exact file. How could this be? I first did it with Apple's Compressor, Wavelab and finally with Soundtrack Pro. The output files all exactly the same exact size. If it was just Compressor and Sountrack I could say that they both use the same algorithm but Wavelabs too?
Holger Lagerfeldt
The size would be the same, but not the sound. Did you do a null test?
David Nahmani
The bit depth is the number of bits per sample, the sample rate is the number of samples per second. Given a file's length, sample rate and bit depth, you can tell its size. But that tells you very little about the file's sound or sound quality. It just tells you... it's size.
