mocuischle
hello, and happy new years for you and your creation. i want to buy protools 10, and i see the problem with interface ( driver), but can i work with logic and protools with the same computer without interface. Finally, is it a problem to have few DAW in the same computer ( like few driver ), because i want to buy in a futur, more differents DAW. Who are the good manufactures to have good core audio driver . cubase / reason / digital performer / nuendo , are all good with a mac. thank you
David Nahmani
See that discussion: Logic 9.1.6 and Digi Coreaudio 9.0.6 Having several DAW software on the same computer isn't a problem. Several drivers is another question and depends on the drivers, but most DAW software is core audio compliant and you should only need a single driver for one piece of equipment to work with all your DAWs. mocuischle
i have several driver about hardware, and the computer work, i didn't make anything i beleive that each software-daw comes with it own core audio driver if i buy for example protools, this comes with a new driver, and when i install it , the driver is in it, then after that i didn't tell to my computer tu use this or another, it's the computer who will choice....or it's the last update driver who are keep for working with all daw ok, thank you very much i can buy it in peace ......sorry for english, if i know that one day i speach and heard english for my favorites hobbies, perhap's i hearded my teather, and didn't see the birds...thanks
David Nahmani
i beleive that each software-daw comes with it own core audio driver No, most DAWs use OS X's "Core Audio driver". That's an intrinsic part of OS X, not of the DAWs. if i buy for example protools, this comes with a new driver, and when i install it , the driver is in it I'm assuming you mean the Digi Core Audio driver. You install it not for Pro tools, which does not require any driver to connect to its compatible audio interfaces, but for the hardware that came with PTLE that you may want to use with DAW other than PT. So the point of the driver is to connect your Digi/AVID hardware to Logic, or Cubase, or Digital Performer, or Live, etc... There's one driver per piece of hardware. Some hardware is class compliant and also uses OS X's core audio driver. then after that i didn't tell to my computer tu use this or another, it's the computer who will choice You choose which driver you use with Logic in Logic's audio preferences, under "Input Device" and "Output Device". That's how Logic knows with which device you want it to communicate.
