adding a region to take folder

I've searched the net and even looked in the manual but I can't figure out the best way to do this. I want to replace a region within a take folder with virtually the same region only pitch corrected. That way, I can keep all the automation and plug-ins.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Logic's pitch correction is only automatic. Here is what I've done: I find the file I want in the Finder and import it into Digital Performer. I work on the pitch and then bounce it. So what is the best way to now get that file/region back in the same place in the same track?

So if I unpack a folder so that the takes are on separate tracks, should I just delete the region in question and drag the new region I want there? Or should I rename it in the Finder and replace it in the audio folder? I'm just trying to find the most expedient way to do this as it is a process I have to do regularly

Thanks in advance.

From Digital Performer just bounce it on the desktop. Now you have to rename the exact way the take has in your audio-folder of the logic session. Then replace the old take with the new one. It should work. I always do it like that with files in logic, though I must admit I never tried that with a file of a take-folder.

But for example if I work on a movie and bring 3 different pieces together in one session and then feel that I have to adjust something in one of the pieces, but the position of the tracks was already perfect, I go back to that session I am not happy with, do my change and bounce it again (giving the wav the same name as the one in the complied session) and just put it in the audio-folder, replacing it with the old file. There it works.

Thanks, that was more or less what I would think would be the most intuitive way. I did a little experiment. Since the first vocal I tried this on was difficult to tell if it was the original or the tuned one, I deliberately bounced one with some notes pitched completely wrong and replaced the aif file in Logic's Audio Folder. However, in Logic when I hit play, it just plays the old one though. I experimented further and found I had to close the project and reopen it for this to work. You too? Anyway, I now know how to do this and this is progress!

Thanks.
