logic8mine
After upgrade to OS X 10.7.3, Logic no longer opens projects, it gives a 'The document 'xxxxxx' cannot be opened' error and opens the last opened project. For clarity, if I open a .smf or select a Logic project to open, I get the error message and the last opened project when Logic was last used opens. This does not occur if Logic is already running... Any suggestions other than reinstall?
Jordi Torres
Logic project won't open from Finder? J.
logic8mine
No, it gives that error and then opens the last opened project, after I click to confirm the notification...
Jordi Torres
How are you opening the projects? By double clicking the project file in the finder or from Logic's File menu? and...is your Startup Action preference set to "Do nothing" (General > Project Handling) like I mentioned in that thread? logic8mine
Good question, I owned Logic since 8 and never had to set this, or even knew that it existed for that matter- Ok, it is set to 'Open Most Recent Project'. This is the default action when opening the app; is it supposed to affect opening projects or midi files also? It hasn't for the last five+ years? logic8mine
Btw, thank you for your time...
Jordi Torres
What your experiencing appears to be this Lion/Logic issue that some people are having, hence the link in my first post. The workaround is to set that preference to "do nothing". is it supposed to affect opening projects or midi files also? Opening (as opposed to importing) a MIDI file is practically identical to opening a regular Logic project. When you opena MIDI file you're loading tempo, time signature, and other global data...just like a opening a Logic project file. Btw, thank you for your time... No problem. J.
