Bouncing out mono files

Recommended Posts

I have recorded trumpet at my studio, and now want to send on the MONO files to another studio.

I go to the stereo output, and make that mono.

I then go to the mixer window and solo the track I want to bounce. It only comes out of the left monitor.

BUT, if I solo the files in the arrange window (not the solo button, but just highlight the files and press S), I hear the audio in mono but out of 2 speakers.

Any explanation? And is this the correct way to bounce out mono files?

The file itself is stereo, but the sound itself is mono as it's the same on both sides.

Try this: route all your tracks to a mono bus and route the bus to Out 1 (change the format button on your output channel strip to mono). Finally, (this is important) click the Bounce button on the output channel strip. Do not use a key command or the Bounce menu item.

See if this gives you the right result.
