Copying regions - Easy one

Recommended Posts

It could be different things depending on what you're talking about: Audio or MIDI region? And what kind of edit are we talking about, destructive audio editing in the sample editor, or non-destructive region editing in the Arrange area?

You must have accidentally made a clone rather than a copy. To make a copy, use File > Copy/Paste, or Command-C, Command-V, or Option-drag the region. That will create a true copy of the region - meaning a new, independent region with the same start/end positions as the original one - but you should be able to now adjust them independently of the original region.
