alexfsu
So I guess EXS24 can't process 16-bit sampes--only 24-bit and up. Is it possible to convert 16-bit samples to 24-bit, or is my only option to just import the samples as audio files? Thanks in advance.
Rev. Juda Sleaze
It's 24bit and down. Just load the 16bit samples.
alexfsu
It's 24bit and down. Just load the 16bit samples. When I load 16-bit "Ride Cymbal" samples, they don't come out right. They are drastically muffled and pitched lowered...barely any sound comes through, even with a gain plugin....
Rev. Juda Sleaze
That's odd, but I don't think it has anything to do with them being 16bit. I don't know why they would be muffled, but as for the pitching; do you have the "pitch" box unchecked in the editor? Also check the gain for the zone in the editor and the output level on the EXS front panel.

Eriksimon
They are all pitched (under Playback)! meaning they are pitched down or up to match the key they're on. So, in the EXS editor, select all samples and uncheck pitch.
Rev. Juda Sleaze
Also, the EXS volume knob is pretty low, boost that before you start adding gain plugs.

I unchecked "pitch" in all of the samples and raised the volume in EXS, but now I can just hear the samples in slow motion better :/
Eriksimon
Do you mean they sound too low? Then there's a mismatch between their sample rate and your projects' sample rate. Solve it.

The rest of the 16-bit sample pack works fine in my 24-bit project, I'm trying my best to figure out whats the issue, I'm just stumped!
Rev. Juda Sleaze
It's nothing to do with bit depth, sounds like it's a sample rate issue, but I thought the EXS automatically converted samples to the project sample rate.
