ontrackp
Hi all, I'm new to using Logic and am trying to figure out if there is a way to retrieve patch names from my external midi devices. I have several vintage synths and would like to have the patch names show up in the library. I've read that I can look for existing pdf files with patch lists or type them in manually. Obviously it would be better if Logic could just look at the synths and download the patch names, or import them from another librarian program. Is this possible? Does this functionality exist? Thanks very much -- this is a great forum and I've learned a lot from reading through the threads!

ontrackp
Thanks. I found a posting that says Logic comes with a file called Various Multi-Sets that includes lots of synth models. I will try it tomorrow. It seems that basic midi librarian functionality should be included -- there's so much high level ability in Logic, this seems like an odd omission. Great forum! Thanks.
