NovaAaron
Hey ya'll. I've used a simple direct in with a guitar cable and a pin jack. Now its not working in either garageband or logic. Has this happened to anyone else? All my setting are correct.
David Nahmani
We can help you but we'll need you to detail what you've done a bit more. Settings, cabling, gear (audio interface? etc...) Please add your Logic version and system info to your signature: Forum Rules - please READ THIS before posting (#5)
NovaAaron
No Audio Interface, just a adapter and guitar cable. Going through the Audio Line-in Port on Macbook Pro. Sound setting are all ok.
David Nahmani
Can you tell us what settings you're using: - Under your system preferences > Sound > Input? - Under Logic Pro > Preferences > Audio > Input Device?

David Nahmani
Have you tried setting your audio track to both input 1 OR input 2? Neither works? Do you have another cable you could try?

David Nahmani
Choose Apple Menu > System Preferences, Sound, Input. Play your guitar. Do you see any activity on the level meter?
NovaAaron
No, theyre is no signal
David Nahmani
Ok, so that indicates that your Mac is not receiving any audio signal - therefore neither does Logic obviously. It could be: 1) Your guitar 2) Your cable 3) Your Mac's built-in audio input Try another guitar, another cable and adapter (I think you said you already tried this) and if all else fails bring the Mac to an Apple store so they can test your built-in audio input and fix it if necessary. Note that buying an inexpensive audio interface such as a Presonus AudioBox might be less expensive than fixing the built-in interface, unless you're still under warranty. NovaAaron
I know its not the guitar and not the cable. I bought a brand new adapter so its not that. Hmm weird. Do those go out?
David Nahmani
I know its not the guitar and not the cable. How did you determine that? What kind of adapter are you talking about? Can you record, say, your voice, using the built-in microphones?
