nev17
Just thought I'd draw your attention to the BBC Radio 3 podcast series entitled 'Fifty Modern Classics'. Not sure if it can be accessed from outside the UK, though. http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/r3mc I've been listening to this series for a few months now and find it absolutely fascinating. If you're curious about some of the more unusual influences on modern music; wondering what Glass/Stockhausen/Reich ever did for us, or just looking for some inspiration, you might find this interesting. My personal favourite from the series, so far, is Ligeti's 'Atmospheres'. You may never have heard of Ligeti but I can guarantee that you've heard his music. There's also a fascinating program on BBC Radio 4Xtra about the, now defunct, BBC Radiophonic Workshop (of Dr Who title music fame). I want a Crystal Palace now!
