Connecting Piano to MacBook [SOLVED]

Hey Guys,

 

I had this thing working....2 years ago, and now it isn't working anymore.

 

I have my electric piano connected to my computer via USB, and after adding a new track (I tried Software Instrument, and External Midi Track) recording through the piano doesn't show up in Logic as being "heard." The track is still empty.

 

I'm sure it's an easy question but I can't find the answer!

When you play keys on your piano, do you see any data in your MIDI in display in the transport bar (which otherwise says "no in")?

Yes, it says "No In"

That means Logic is not receiving any MIDI events from your piano. If you want you can double check by pressing caps lock and using the keys on your computer keyboard, that you can hear your software instrument. If you do, then the problem is with your MIDI keyboard: try reinstalling its drivers?

oh my gosh embrassement!! I had connected my piano by putting "Midi Out" cable with "Midi Out" receiver. Thank you so much for the help David! now fixed....
