murrayhillmac
Hey Forum– I've gotten alot of great info from this site, and I expect this time will b no different... My problem is: whenever i load a particular song, all my audio stuff loads, plugs, etc... then it loads this thing I don't know what it is "Backwardsfifth.exs" I guess thats an EXS24 patch. Then it loads something "Heavenlypipes" I believe it's from my NI Razor. Anyway after song loads, when ever I try to do something it crashes. The only thing I believe I can do is delete stuff. This just started happening on a song I've been working on for a month or so– and I don't know how, but I guess this file got corrupted?... what advice do you have for me? thanks in advance! David Nahmani
The first thing you could do is disable the audio driver under Logic's audio preferences, then save your file under a new "TEST" name, and remove a suspicious plug-in, say "Razor", then re-enable the audio driver and see if it behaves. Keep doing that until you find the culprit plug-in. The second thing you could do is start a new empty project and using the File Browser, locate this project, and import all its tracks including all media, routing, sends, etc...., even the global tracks, into this new empty project. Sometimes that fixes project corruption issues.
murrayhillmac
Cool! Thanks David– I'll try both of those in the order you outlined... and let you know how it worked out.

The template had an older version of a plug-in which was causing Logic to crash at start up. I had opened a trouble ticket with the AU company.. and was waiting for a fix / way around the problem. I didn't know how to open the file, with the bad plugin. The error told me the plug-in... but like I said, I didnt know that disabling the audio driver would allow me to remove the plug-in. I removed the plug-in.. Closed Logic... re-enabled the Audio Driver, then opened up the bad Project file in Logic. Added back the plug-in (it had been recently updated by the vendor), and everything is fixed. I had already fixed my template reference, but these two outstanding projects/songs were the last mile in the fix. Thank you - thank you!
