logic plays the note from the first beat next bar in cycle

Say you have a cycle over bar 1-8.

Logic plays any note on beat 1 of bar 9 over the top of beat 1 bar 1.

 

How do i switch this off?

Make sure there's no overlapping notes or notes that start a tiny bit before the downbeat.

yeah, i checked that very thoroughly, i think there's some look ahead/chase events setting type thing going on

ok, it's stopped doing it now after a re-open. Maybe just a glitch

Logic is glitchy in this way. And the behavior may change on its own too. Having notes overlapping from one measure into the next is, of course, not a problem for your music but it does make Logic occasionally lose its mind --- all depending on how the various note chase settings are set up, and, the randomness that is Logic when it comes to this kind of thing.

I'm using a synth (podolski, free and recommended, simple and sounds great) with an arpeggiator and this is doing my nut. If you reopen logic it is fine until it I take it off loop and let the piece continue. Then if you return to cycle mode, there is some sort of look ahead going on where it reads the next bar after the loop and the arpeggio is triggered. No overlapping notes etc.

 

Very odd. I'm going to try and move some notes around, grrrr
