Rap Radio Technique

How can I, using Logic, create that effect that radio uses on rap songs when the rappers swear or say something that needs to be edited out of FM radio? It sounds kind of like a drop in pitch mixed with a rewind or something.

Various kinds of techniques are used by various producers here. The two you mention (reversing and dropping pitch/speed) are pretty common.

 

You can reverse audio in Logic's sample editor (Functions > Reverse).

 

You can apply speed fades (Speed up or Slow down) in the Arrange area: create a fade at the beginning or end of your audio region with the fade tool, then control-click it and choose "Speed up" or "Slow down".

One of my favorites is to convert the vocal file to an EXS24 Sampler track (Audio / Convert Regions to New Sampler Track). Then edit the sampler instrument so that the down pitchbend range is 24 or even 36 semitones. Now have much fun with pitch bend!
