amalankar
Hi, I have a Roland TD-4 Electronic Drum set, that has a MIDI out which I want to connect to my MacBook Pro with Logic. Right now My audio interface is an Alesis Firewire 16 Mixer, which has no MIDI inputs... so, I guess I have to buy another "audio interface" (i know that term may not be appropriate); ie. a MIDI to USB convertor. What I'm worried about is latency issues, can anyone give me some advice on how to create a setup with low latency? Thanks any product suggestions for the connection from the MIDI out to the MacBook would be appreciated as well. Amol
Eriksimon
You can keep using your Alesis for audio, audio interfaces don't need MIDI functionality; some do have it, but if they do, you should see it as two separate pieces of hardware rolled into one: an audio interface and a midi interface. What you lack is just a MIDI interface. These (amongst others) would do: http://www.amazon.com/EMU-XMIDI-1X1-MIDI-Interface/dp/B000JLU26W/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1346318248&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/Roland-UM-ONE-Midi-Interface/dp/B004KCLXBE/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1346318248&sr=1-2 http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-UX16-Computer-Adapter-Keyboard/dp/B000I1Q58W/ref=sr_1_17?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1346318248&sr=1-
