Generating random notes in mainstage

Hi all

 

Is it possible to make Mainstage generate random notes each time a single note is sent to it.

 

So for example, each time I send C1 from my keyboard to mainstage, mainstage then sends a different note to a specified instrument channel.

 

I'm pretty sure I could do this in logic environment, but I'd prefer to do it in mainstage when performing live.

You can use a software instrument with arpeggiator into mainstage to work in this way, like FM8 from native instrument or Sylenth

Maybe the op was mistaken but, a arpegiator doesn't generate random notes,

it arpegiates a chord you input thru midi. Random implies a total disregard of

harmonic context, which is why I don't understand the op.

Yes

CarlosUnderground is right in that I want mainstage to send a different random note when I input the same note as in the original post. It is a bit like having a round robin function, but I want to send random notes to trigger different 'glitch' presets in Reaktor.

 

The arpeggiator is a good idea tho and could prove to be useful.
