helpbox
Is it possible to have multiple mixer window views? I feel like it is but I can't remember how it's done. Basically, I just want to view only a submix of drums in the mixer window so I can copy the same settings from that mixer to another project via options>copy audio configuration. I have a bunch of tunes from a session where we tracked at a studio on a PT HD rig and the same drummer played the same kit on all of the tunes so I would just like to be able to get the drums dialed in on one song and paste the mixer settings into each of the others tunes. It's just something I was thinking about to maximize efficiency, not a life or death situation but any ideas would be appreciated.
Eric Cardenas
Put the drum regions inside of a folder. Enter the folder then open the mixer.

David Nahmani
You can also open the Mixer first, and double-click the folder channel strip.
Eric Cardenas
Put the drum regions inside of a folder.Enter the folder then open the mixer. Huh.... Learn something new every day here... Thanks Eric, as always! Cheers... You're welcome Nigel! Now you can take advantage of Logic's link modes to have different mixers for different "groups" and you can have different screen sets for different mixers... Or/And you can have one that follows the arrange window.
David Nahmani
Or/And you can navigate the Mixer by double-clicking a folder to go inside, and clicking the Hierarchy button to go back to the top level, double-click another folder... etc. Hierarchy button: http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicpro/usermanual/Art/S01/S0180_HierarchyButton.png
n6smith
Thank you David and Eric.. I had never thought about using these methods before.. Will make things much easier in the long run when I need to work on sub mixes for sure. Much appreciated!
FlowerPower
Basically, I just want to view only a submix of drums in the mixer window so I can copy the same settings from that mixer to another project via options>copy audio configuration. Are you sure that it's possible to copy the audio configuration of some some tracks between two projects using that feature? What I usually do if I want to see only the drum tracks is to use the Hide feature on the Group Setting panel. But I don't think doing that will affect how Copy Audio Configuration works. If you want to import some channels trip settings (for multiple tracks) into another project, the fastest solution could possibly be to use Import feature in the Media section's Browser (lower right corner of that area. Using this feature, you can import the channel strip settings of eg only the drum tacks into other songs, without importing the regions/files from the same project. (You can also save the Channel Strip settings of each of the drum tacks under an easily identifiable name, in a folder named after that project, and open them , one at a time, for each of the drum tracks in all the others songs. ) But if your method works, I've learned something new today - so thank you for that!
