ES2 Synth Help

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, here's a link to this Synth line I'm doing for a song remake:

If you listen, some of the notes, when they begin, do it sharply and that is unwanted. I would like to have the notes start smoothly.

I can do this by overlapping each one just a tiny bit and it plays the entire selection as one note sequence. The reason I didn't do the same on here, is because there is a small break in the notes. I would like to know how to keep the notes from starting sharply but still have the attack be very short. I am using the ES2. Here is a picture of the Synth and it's inserts: http://i.imgur.com/Oefkp.png

Here is also a link to the same part on the original song:

Thanks,

Nick

sounds like the synth is set to legato - and the sharpness at the start of phrases is some mod set to the cut off filter - adjusting the filter or osc starts isn't really (imo) the way to go about changing this to how i think you want it...

What is modulating the cut off? My guess would be that it's one of the envelopes, if it's just a straight up env mod then increase the attack time of the envelope so it will then gradually bring the filter up before going down again (you'd probably want to increase the decay time too)

If the timing is now right but you feel that the sound becomes too bright - decrease the amount that the envelope is modulating the cut off in the mod matrix....

Wonderful. I lowered the second envelope's attack and decay to zero and this made it much better. I also changed the voices to 5 and turned off "unison" Thanks!
