chirping noise

during sound production whenever i add certain instruments i hear this chirping sound out of my left speaker/headphones that i cant shake. It never happens when recording vocals but always when i am producing instrumentals. It is actually giving me a headache... HELP!!!

i have tried everything i can possibly think of including turning down the track volume, compressing and limiting the track but still nada

It's clearly a grasshopper that's crawled into the capsule of the headphones. When you're recording vocals, the grasshopper doesn't chirp mainly out of respect for the singer, but when you're making instrumentals it seizes the moment.

First thing to do would be to isolate whether it's a headphone issue or a Logic issue. Best thing for that would be to check the same music on another pair of headphones, monitors etc.

No joke, it could very well be cell phone noise. When certain brand of cell phones are on they can create a chirping noise in the monitor system. Seen it/heard it a million times.

 

Or...

 

I've also found that if my project has a TON of tracks and either I add plugins or even unpack a folder that I'll get a chirp-like sound that's really freekin' annoying.

 

BTW, do you ever end up with this noise getting recorded on your tracks?
