Hanging Notes in Piano Roll Selection

Hi all, first post! But not first time visitor...

 

When I select midi notes in the piano roll for a software instrument (say, ES1), I often get hanging notes. It tends to happen when I select more than one note at a time, for example a bar's worth. . This doesn't trigger the 'Midi ON/OFF' thing in the transport bar as I'm not playing any data in via keyboard at the time. It seems to be a different note every time.

Can you reproduce that issue in a new "Empty Project" factory template with a single software instrument track, ES1 inserted in the instrument slot, using the default ES1 setting?

Well after two minutes of that, I couldn't get it to do it. However, it's done the same thing on 3 new iMacs at school (I'm a music teacher) and now on the mine at home. They were all set up as different 'empty projects' on each individual machine and use different software instruments etc, so its not the same project file being passed about like a dodgy digitally transmitted disease.

Right, just checking. I've suffered that issue intermittently here or there, but not enough that it would disrupt my workflow. When it happens I Option-click the plug-in twice on the channel strip, to bypass then unbypass it.
