kisaarjaki
Hi one and all. I have bought some loops from Big Fish Audio and I find that when I drag them into Logic Pro HD 9 the key of the samples is wrong. Not sure what to do. Tried a few things like trying to change from 24bit to 16 but the samples still play in the wrong key. Any help would be appreciated on this topic. Eric Cardenas
Drag the folder, containing the loops you've just bought, to the Loop Browser in Logic. Logic will now index the loops for you. In the loop browser you'll be able to see the original key of the loop. Use the transpose parameter in the inspector to transpose the loop to the desired key. (Logic's default key is C. That's what it's transposing to.)

kisaarjaki
Do you have to do the same thing with wave files as well for the same thing is happening with them as well?
David Nahmani
What is the exact format of the loops? ACID files? Or just plain old wave files?

kisaarjaki
I bought from Big Fish audio some loops that are: REX, Apple loops, and plain Waves. All play in the wrong key when I drag them into Logic. In "Quick look" the apple loops and waves play in the right key. Running system 10.6,8 on my mac mini 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB ram. David Nahmani
What key is your Logic project set to?
kisaarjaki
What I have been doing is just dragging them from the their folder into a track. I have not dragged the fold of the waves into the loop section in Logic. I suppose it just changes everything to the key of C. I have loops with cords in them so I suppose I will just have to drag them into the loop section in Logic then. I was just wondering about the Waves files. David Nahmani
I suppose it just changes everything to the key of C. Only if your project is set to the key of C, which it is by default. Did you change your project key or did you never touch its key signature? A "plain wave" file will not automatically match the project's key. An ACID wave file will. kisaarjaki
I never touched its key signature. I am new to this so I will try that and see if that helps. Thanks
kisaarjaki
Is that under File, project Settings, and Tuning?
David Nahmani
No, open your global tracks, open the signature track and double-click the "C".
kisaarjaki
Thanks. I will do that. Thanks again.
