Volume faders are post, IE after!

It's part OF the channel strip.

The signal flows from top to bottom.

The fader is after the Inserts.

Thanks. So if I want to adjust the volume before my effects I guess I'd just use a gain plugin (or output on an eq)? Does Logic's gain leave a sonic footprint?
