Does Ultrabeat create unwanted peaks?

Hello all-

 

I was curious. If you simply run a sample through Ultrabeat's amplitude envelope and nothing more, with no gain over unity, does it have the potential to create peaks or unwanted frequencies? Or is it simply 'turning the gain knob down'?

 

Also, is there a way to bypass the envelope entirely to simply sequence samples?
