Unexplained MIDI out message? [SOLVED]

Could anyone please help me understand why Logic is showing this midi out message? I haven't knowingly tweaked anything and, although it doesn't seem to be audibly affecting anything, I would like to know what's going on.

N.B. It's only displaying when I press play. When it's idle it's the usual, nothing in, nothing out.

Many thanks.

I recently installed an iPad app for wireless control of the transport bar (for occassional use when playing guitar). If it's likely to have caused this, or introduced any other instability, maybe I'll back pedal on that. The app itself, seems to work great though.

I don't really know much about syses., is it likely to upset any outboard or, god forbid, even internal midi instruments?

OK, that's very telling. That was my other thought, that it was some kind of MIDI message from a transport control of some kind. Simple to check, just turn it off and see if it goes away.

No, it's triggered the minute I hit the space bar.

I just disconnected my midi keyboard, maschine and the iPad, and even shut down the wi fi router (the app involves midi via wi fi), and there was no change.

So long as it's not screwing anything up, I guess I'm happy to run with it. All the reviews on the app seemed be singing it's praises, so I trusted that it would not destabilize my system. Time will tell on that one ....

(I don't want to waste your time it it's actually not doing any harm)

Thanks Ski.

Here are screenshots of Logic's main and project preferences. I'm not that knowledgable on these settings (learning some interesting bits & pieces along the way though) and would appreciate it if you could let me know if there's anything untoward there.

Choose Logic Pro > Preferences > Control Surfaces > Bypass All Control Surfaces. See if the problem disappears?

the option was actually 'bypass all while in background" though, but I'm pretty sure that's the one you meant.

It's not. You have to follow the exact menu path I gave you to find the option - starting from the "Logic Pro" menu at the very top of your screen:

Oh! I goofed that one up then. I didn't see that option as I went in via the preferences icon.

Yes, that resolves it. So has that narrowed down the possible cause, or resolved it completely?

Yes, that means that you have a control surface installed in Logic Pro > Preferences > Control Surfaces > Setup... if you are not using that control surface, you can select it and press delete on your keyboard to delete it. Then quit Logic to save your preferences.

If that doesn't work you can:

1) Quit Logic.

2) Trash ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs (.CS for .Control Surface).

3) Reopen Logic.
