Good Midi-Controller 25 Keys for Logic Pro 9?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I've searched this forum for recommandations regarding small keyboard controllers for with Logic. There are some threads - but most for 49 keys or more (and many of them older than 2011). So I dare opening a new thread.

I'm looking for a light and robust unit for traveling, 25 keys with reasonable quality, transport buttons, pitch-bend and vibrato, some controller knobs/buttons and - most important - perfect for Logic. I've read numerous threads about problems regarding controller assignments which is a bit discouraging. I'm ready to pay more if it works well with Logic (out of the box).

So, what are your suggestions?

Thx for your tips! 8)

When looking into it I read this (source: http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.directlink):

"Logic Pro 9.1 is only supported when launched in 32-bit mode; 64-bit mode is not currently supported. Logic Express does not go through the qualification process."

I run in 64-bit mode. Is there an alternative for Logic Pro 9.1.7 in 64-bit? :?:

I am currently in the same market as yourself. I do own a second gen axiom 61 and absolutely love it. what that link you posted is referring to is direct link, which is automatic mapping of all the controls which i must admit is a really really nice feature. and makes your axiom and small control surface with mixer controls anddddddd third party plugin mapping i some times run in 64 bit on really intensive projects where i need more ram but most of my plugs are 32 bit and the direct link really is something. so i have been seriously been considering a 25 axiom but i wanted to see what else is out there.

Just wanted to let you know I went for Novations SL MK II and it works well so far - that is for Logic and its Native Plug-Ins. 64-bit is no problem at all (at least not in my set-up) and Automap does a good job. I'm struggling with external Plug-Ins, though ... will start another thread for this issue.

Good to know - thx for sharing this info! 8)

By the time I had to decide the Axioms had this info about "problems with 64 bit" on their website. Haven't checked since then and now I've got already the Novation product, which works well too. So, now there's a choice for other people!

am resurrecting this thread (and no, am not a licensed re-animator).

am looking for a 25-key (i think) travel controller. am interested in the nektar impact 25...but that's not due until november or so. so checking out the alesis QX25 and the m-audio oxygen 25.

i like the m-audio design, but...anyone running it with logic 64bit? that's my big concern... or...any thoughts? prefer something small, simple, not expensive...
