ddi
how do i go about converting fxb / fxp files to .mid or .syx to work with Novation's V Station ?? when i try to upload i get an invalid file name, after some research it may appear the presets i have are useless ?? i dont have a PC to load sounds and then export in V_station to .mid
ddi
Anybody know if this is possible??
Eriksimon
This is not possible. Those fx* files are VST preset files, they do not contain any MIDI data, nor does their content even relate to MIDI data. It is like wanting to convert a JPG into a spreadsheet. ddi
Thanks for replying Erik. Will throw ten in the trash. Lol I notice sylenth 1 from lennar uses Fxp / fxb files so are they specifically written for v station only ? Or can I use them in an audio plug in that utilises Fxp / fxb files for presets ?? Thanks again
Eriksimon
Some 3rd party AU plugins use .fxp and .fxb (fxprogram, fxbank) internally, so it depends on whether the software can read them. The Rob Papen and Linplug instruments use them, Orangevocoder uses them, and I bet there are more; but all of those can also read .aupreset files. The problem with all those preset files is that you cannot identify from the outside to which instrument they belong; an .fxp from Sylenth can only be read by Sylenth. So always keep .fxp & b's in the folder that identifies their "parent instrument", or you'll be facing an uncontrollable mess in no time!
