Score Editor: 1st & 2nd time bar symbols

In the lead sheet below - is there anyway one can prevent the number 1 repeating on each stave below its first appearance? This is one of those annoying situations where it does not seem possible to make the Score Editor conform to the basic simple conventions of lead sheet layout...

NB A tip in terms of getting the end 1st time bar symbol/line to stretch all the way to the repeat sign: do this in Linear Mode ( perhaps you already knew that )

There is another way using partbox tools which is not the Repeat 1 or 2.

 

I used overhead bracket second from bottom in tool box pic and added '1.' with text tool. Then added 2nd repeat.

 

 

 

A little more steps but generates repeat overhead line without repeat number.
