jonringo
Hello everyone..im new here and fairly new to Logic..LOVE THE PROGRAM. I've browsed through the forums here and I see alot of you guys are very well versed. So I know im in the right place.... Here is the workflow I want to achieve. I have an ASR10 that I want to hook up to my iMac running Logic 9 via my M-Audio Midisport 2x2. I want to be able to do all my sampling and chopping with the ASR10 and use Logic as my sequencer. I of course want to have my kick, snare, hats, other percs on a separate track in Logic, and the same for my chopped samples (I like to use different vinyl records to build my samples, meaning I like to layer my chops). So I want to have each layer of my sample chops on separate tracks as well so I can process each layer a different way if needed. Please forgive me if i sound "noobish" but in the midi syncing world I am! I'm assuming with this setup I want to achieve that Logic will be recording in the midi notes played by my ASR10, correct? If so, what I cant conceive (IN MY MIND, before actually attempting) is once the midi notes are recorded into Logic how do I convert those midi notes to actual audio tracks so that I can mix/process/master etc?? I've been away from production for almost a month due to a housing move etc...and I have so many ideas in my head for new projects...I GOTTA LAY THESE DOWN BEFORE I GO INSANE!!! LOL im sure you know how that is! Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
chellstrom
It will be easier to help you if you give us your info on what gear you're using: http://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/rules.php But, the short answer is that you need to rout the output from your ASR10 to your audio interface and record it in Logic. Depending on how many inputs your interface has and if you can use the multiple outs on the ASR, you may be able to record all or just one track at a time so that you can keep things separate for further processing. Hope that helps,
