rainstick Posted October 14, 2012 Share Posted October 14, 2012 I was thinking about getting the AKG 702s (possibly 1's... ho hum) and would probably end up using them with a laptop, im guessing the output on the laptop wouldn't be that strong and would use an amp - any one do this? fisherking Posted October 15, 2012 Share Posted October 15, 2012 i replaced my audio interface recently; was without one for *gasp* five days. was surprised that i COULD use the headphone out on my macbook pro...back in the powerbook days, that did not work so well. am thinking about the 701's, seems a better deal, same basic 'phones... fisherking Posted October 15, 2012 Share Posted October 15, 2012 fwiw, i investigated this extensively about 4-5 months ago, and decided the Q701's were the way to go...and the price was right. otherwise, my theory is, there are no perceivable differences in these 3 models...but it's just my theory. the internet is a great place to get information, misinformation, facts, nonsense. but hey, i'm a science fiction fan anyway.
