CPU-Spikes on 1 core of 8

So I've been getting these spikes in the CPU while running moderately demanding projects.

See below.

 

Tried to run Logic 9 in both 32 and 64bit-mode but still get the same issue.

My set-up is:

2011 Macbook Pro 15"

CPU: Intel Core i7, 2,2 GHz with 8 cores

RAM: 8gb

HDD: 128gb SSD-Drive (System), 750gb 7200rpm-Drive (Projects etc.)

 

Seems strange to me that the CPU is overloading when 6 cores are working below 50% and 1 core is working at 0%.

(Not running any other applications than Logic 9)

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Does anyone know why this is occurring?
