n6smith
Am i the only one that thinks this may mean no more Mac pro? Remember, Tim Cook's comment regarding this, related to later in 2013 not late 2012... Our Pro customers like you are really important to us. Although we didn’t have a chance to talk about a new Mac Pro at today’s event, don’t worry as we’re working on something really great for later next year. rekloos
Did a search outta curiosity, 5400 started showing on the market 1995. It just seems with all this emphasis on faster, better, quieter etc, and everything else advancing (cpu, ram, video)still having 5400 as basic drives in new computers seems funny to me. Should t 7200 or even 10000 be damn quiet and reliable by now. And cheaper? Maybe I'm just spoiled after switching to SSD. ~

No. Also keep in mind: for most audio work, what matters to you is the seek time of your drive - not the streaming speed. And the rpm affects the streaming speed more than the seek time. jorgefilemon
hi guys! i had to return my imac 3.4 i7 2TB hard disk, 256 SSD that i bought around sept. they are not selling these anymore, only fusion drive option. I was using the SSD for apps and the 2TB HD for libraries and it was great! how am i gonna be able to do this if the new imacs come with fusion drive?, still don't get what's this technology, do you guys know if you can split the SSD and the HD, though now the SSD is 128 GB only. this kind of sucks or i just do not know that this tech is better! any thoughts?
