HMayoral
Hey guys! Just a little while ago I decided to start experimenting with two instruments, transposed differently. It sounds great playing from the midi keyboard, but is there a way that I can link both instruments to one track so that the midi in the region of said track is sent through both instruments? Eric Cardenas
You can connect two instruments in the Environment but it is overkill for this example. Simply click the record enable button on both instrument tracks. The selected track will record MIDI and the other track will use an alias of the MIDI region. Editing a note in one of the regions will be reflected on the other one.
HMayoral
That's what I had originally. Sounds neat! So when you say overkill, do you mean processor intensive? to try to work it out and be able to do it with the piano roll, I linked an empty track to on of the instrument tracks, and then that track to the other instrument track and I'm getting the effect I need though
Eric Cardenas
By overkill I mean unnecessary tedious! If you want to try it just create an Instrument in the Environment and connect it to the two Software Instrument objects that you would like to use. Drag and drop the New instrument on an empty track on your Arrange.
HMayoral
Using midi is much more efficient, but actually linking them was exactly what I needed. Rather than doing it from the midi keyboard, I just wanted to experiment using the piano roll! It does get your hands dirty in the environment XD! Eric Cardenas
I'm glad it helped!
