AYBFOREVER Posted November 12, 2012 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Hey everyone, I just recently took all of my sessions/sounds and moved them to my external thinking i would just be able to relocate them. Seems like a terrible mistake. Now when i open up sessions it freezes because its searching for my sounds in the EXS player, even if i open a new session and choose a bank off the EXS sampler it goes to load sounds and then freezes. Ultrabeat opens but the wavs are empty but the sound names are there. This is a huge issue because now i obviously cant open any of my old sessions. Ive hit the refresh button several times, Ive set the EXS sampler to "ALL volumes". Still Nothing. Im not sure what im doing wrong? Im running version 9.1.7 on osx 10.6.8. Any help would be incredibly greatful. I cant even send these files to mix unless i can open these session. Thanks everyone! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
n6smith Posted November 12, 2012 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Try reindexing spotlight http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2409 and make sure you include all drives that have any Logic files.. such as the drive you moved everything to.. so drag that other drive (as well as your system drive) to the privacy tab and then remove it again so OS X will reindex it correctly. be aware, reindexing does take some time, depending on how many files you have stored on your drives so let it all finish before testing... AYBFOREVER Posted November 20, 2012 Author Share Posted November 20, 2012 Hey guys, thanks for the info. So far nothing has helped. When i try loading a program everything crashes as soon as it hits an EXS24 sampler file that was originally used in the session for that soundbank that i made. When i moved all the sessions from the external , thats when all of this started happening. It even sometimes gets stuck on the stock ROLAND 808 kit. wheresmyfood Posted January 6, 2016 Share Posted January 6, 2016 Hi sorry to revive an old thread but I've had the exact same problem and haven't been able to resolve the issue. I also moved "sampler files" and "exs factory samples" folders to an external drive, and now when I open up exs24, it isn't able to find the samples. When I go into preferences and change the "search samples on" option to all volumes, and then I refresh the patch, logic seems to find the files on the external drive, but immediately logic crashes. I tried moving some of the files back onto my main hard drive and it doesn't make any difference, logic still immediately crashes when exs24 attempts to find the samples. I'm running logic 9.1.6 on os x 10.11.2. I've never had problems with logic crashing until now and I'm completely lost as to how to solve it. Thanks in advance.
