trillucination
Well I don't know where to start but basically on all of my projects I have been using samples in the EXS and this morning I tried to load a few songs to continue working on them and it is telling me that all of my sample instruments cannot be located.. I have attached a screenshot of what it looks like when I open up a project.. all I have done recently is made a folder for my artist name and dragged all of my projects into it so I would have easy access to them on the desktop instead of having to search for the name on the hard-drive. I literally have no idea what to do, all help is GREATLY appreciated I don't want to remake all my songs from scratch..

You changed file paths without letting Logic know. Logic is confused. Return your projects to their original location (folder). Create an Alias of that folder and place it on your desktop for easy access.
trillucination
The thing is I don't remember what folder they were in before, I would always just search on mac. HD to find them and load them from there so I don't know what to put them back to.
Scott Jackson
Unless I'm mistaken, Logic defaults to the 'Music' folder in your 'Home' folder. Unless you originally created a different folder for your projects and then moved them to their new location, you should try placing them back in the 'Music' folder. If you have a Time Machine (or other) backup just use that to restore your projects to their original location.

I tried moving it back to the music folder but no luck it still cannot locate the sampler instruments..I was able to locate the folders where the sampler instruments that are "missing" are on the HD though so should I move those folders into the project folder on the desktop..? I'm such a computer novice..
n6smith
You probably need to reindex Spotlight now... as Logic does rely heavily on Spotlight to know where all the files are (as do certain 3rd party plugins like Kontakt for example) http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2409?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Dave Regolith
You tried my old friend the "Refresh menu" option in the exs24 sampler? Samples in the wrong place should still show up as "external" instruments at the bottom of the instrument menu. Other than that, then n6smith's suggestion about spotlight is probably the best bet. reddog
The default location for EXS24 instruments is HD/Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments or User/Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments. You can store EXS24 instruments elsewhere (eg. an external HD), but you'll need to place aliases of those instruments in one of the above locations.
