Plugin bypass automation when moving insert to new slot

just a quicky guys.

I've done automation to bypass a plugin via the 'main' menu. I now want to move that plugin down a slot to put something in front of it but if i do obviously the automation stays where it was (on the now unused slot). so how do i copy it/move it to the lane now in use or do i have to redraw it again?

sorry its so basic just digging through the manual for this seems daunting when there's a load of experts a mouse click away

After you move your plugin to it's new insert, the Bypass Insert automation parameter will say "57 (or some other number) unused". Command-click on the Automation Parameters menu and choose the new Bypass Insert number. When a window pops up asking "Do you want to convert or copy the automation data?", click Convert.

[Edit] The manual is not daunting. The information about how to copy or convert the automation data of one parameter to another is just a quick search away. Try searching "Automation" then select "Copying and Moving Automation Data". Took about 3 seconds.

Sorry mate just going on past experiences

also unless i use the same terminology as the manual, searching can be long winded. eg. if you want to search the manual about "toggle group clutch" but dont know its called "toggle group clutch" where do you start?

No problem. Just thought I'd point it out since you mentioned it.

Start simple!

Search the manual for the word "Groups". The first thing that pops up is "Working with Mixer Groups". Go to that page and scan through it. I found the info regarding "toggle group clutch" in about 5 seconds. 8)
