FOCAL CMS65 + CMS SUB

Recommended Posts

Ok guys....I just purchased the CMS SUB to compliment my cms65 monitors and need some idea on how to set up this combination in my room. Here's the room measurments.

7 ft hight - 14 ft wide - 12 ft deep.

I have my cms65 on my desk against the wall and they are about 14inch from the back wall. I am planning on putting the sub under my desk about 8 inch from the same back wall.

1. How should i set up the 65's as it relates to roll off's, DBs etc etc

2. How should i set up the sub as it relates to roll off's, DBs etc etc.

My room is bass trapping on the wall that is in the back of the speakers as well as behind the mixing possition and overhead as well. The are the ATS 4 inc think bass traps. I am planning on using the IK multimedia ARC system to see how that will work but will like some input from the pros here on logic pro help.

Thanks in advance.

I've decided to place the sub under my desk (middle). I also have the presonus central station and was wondering if its best to connect the sub on its own speaker out from the central station and the cms65 to a serperate speaker out as well. My other option is to connect the cms65 to the sub.

Your opinions will be well appreciated.

They really did not suggest a perticular place for the sub, I was just looking for suggesstions. I spoke with FOCAL and they said I may get better results putting the sub off to the side but for some reason I find that I have to push the volume much higher when off to the side. Just looking for ideas.
