ghost in the machine.........

maybe someone can shed some light on this mysterious problem that is nowhere to be found. I have been mixing a film in logic. everything is going along fine, and then at the end of the film where the credits roll my tracks have this strange sound like scattered multitaps or dice loosly rolled on a backgammon board. they are on the apple loop tracks which have been playing through out the piece with no problem. I have muted all efx. and even tried moving the parts to other channels in the arrange window. is it an apple loop thing or ? please help!

hey david, thanx for getting back.yes I can. the strangeness is on 3 tracks. and as I said before, these same parts are playing in other sections on the same tracks. i have also muted everything. as a test, I copied another part onto a seperate track and pasted into that section, it also has strangeness occuring. could it be that the sesion is screwed up? can it be remedied?

This will happen if your QT movie ends before your music tracks. In other words, if the length of your movie is shorter than your music tracks, you'll get this stuttering. But if that's not the case then I can't think of a reason as to why that should happen.

BTW, when this happens do you also get an "audio not synchronized with MIDI" error message?

I just encountered that very thing and what I found is that as long as the movie is full screen rather than the tiny one, the stuttering does not occur after the movie's end. Or just turn off the movie off if you need to compose beyond the spot where the movie file ends. Shouldn't affect your mixdown since you don't need the movie when you're bouncing.
