Using Omnisphere Arp to trigger another midi track??

Hi :D

1 : Is there a way to make the arpeggiator from Omnisphere trigger another midi track ? So you play omnisphere with no sound on one midi track and use it´s Arp to trigger another midi track with Massive etc??

2: Also and almost even more important: Is there a way to layer midi tracks in a way that will make a midi track with a drum program like XLN Addivctive Drums trigger another track with Battery on?? I´m doing a project where I use alot of the beats from addictive drums. At the moment I will audition the beats in Addictive Drums and the copy the midi to the track with Battery that has all the extra layers for the final kit sound. What would be really nice was is I could somehow link those to midi tracks so I could hear the finished layered sound, while audition the beats in Xln. That way you could build ready layered kits that could be played "live" and triggered from the internal beats within XLN.... Please let it be possible.. :D :D :D

Merry Xmas

Oh I wish there were ... and/or that Logic had an Arpeggiator that was from the 21st century.

Kirnu

This is probably the best Arp I have used with Logic... and the forthcoming new version looks even better....

Unless of course you want to use the 'beast' itself...

Numerology

but for a good (and free...dontate-ware) Arp.. Kirnu takes a lot of beating....

Somehow I cannot get the Kirnu to work : I´m trying to find out what is wrong, but the video is so lo res that it´s impossible for me to see whats wrong.

Drums: At the moment I can link Addictive and Battery so the midi on the Addictive track Trigger the Battery instrument. But battery does not respond to the internal beats from within Adiictive Drum, It only triggers with keyboard presses and recorded midi on the Addictive Track.. Any Ideas if it´s possible to link whats comming out of a plugin on a midi track (Beats or Arp info) to the midi input of another track?? I guess it´s the same procedure as with the Kirnu Arp - so if anyone could confirm if it´s possible and perhaps how to do it. It would be greatly appreciated. :)

That depends. Some plugins can be inserted as an AU MIDI-controlled effect on the input slot of a software instrument channel. You could then cable one plugin's channel strip to the channel strip containing the MIDI-controlled effect, if one exists for what you want to do.

It's much easier than it may appear....

Create 2 software Instrument tracks

Track 1 = Your software instrument that you wish to arpeggiate

Track 2 = Select Kirnu as the Software instrument for this track

Select Track #2 (The one with Kirnu in it)

Go to Environment (Cmd + 8)

Refer to the screenshot below

Drag a 'wire' from Kirnu's Output (as show by the Blue Box) to Track #1's Input (As shown by the Red Box)

This is where you probably made a mistake as the outputs are very small and hard to see so make sure your 'wire' does come from the correct output for Kirnu and not any of the others..

Now go back to the Arrange Window

Make sure Track #2 is still selected and armed for record

Open Kirnu and select settings in there.

Play notes on Midi Keyboard and you will hear Kirnu arpeggiate whatever software instrument you added to Track #1

Done!
