marcoscerutti
Hello people! Guys, I have been looking around for this answer for few days already, but I just cant find it. Not sure if my google skilles ran away or what, but I just can't find my way to a proper answer. I have this scenario: Song: 97 bpm, 135 bpm, 97 bpm (it changes tempo in the middle) Project: 120 bpm Song was recorded on Nuendo or Cubase, not sure, as I didn't record it and the musicians couldn't tell me for sure. Problem: Some part of the drums need to be tighter, but for this, I imagine I would have to use beat detection, but, when I change the tempo, some of the tracks does get shrink and some still at very same position. They are locked. So, where Im messing up? Should it be done in a different way? Im using Logic 9 9.1.6, uMac mid 2011 4gb ram and OS X 10.8.2 Cheers Arrange window at 120 bpm Arrange window at 97 bpm
Jordi Torres
Knowing that all but one track have a single region (and the one that doesn't looks like a bounced mix done by you), you could simply insert the tempo changes where they're suppose to go. You'll first have to smpte-unlock the regions you have smpte-locked (select the regions that have a padlock and go to Region > Unlock SMPTE Position). If you don't know where the tempo changes occur or you find that the music doesn't match the manually inserted tempo changes, you could Beat Map the song based on the click track they gave you. J. marcoscerutti
Hi Jordito, first of, thanks for spend your time trying to help me mate! I unlocked the tracks and the issue still happening, but all tracks shrink together, except the kick tracks; Thaths my main concern, cause the tracks get out of sync :-/
marcoscerutti
I removed all tempo info from the tracks, and went to the menu Audio>Adjust Region Length to Locators, I selected first portion of the song. all the tracks vanished from the arrange window. The only one that stayed in place was a bounce I did on a instrument track (snare_trigger) Did I start it all wrong from the very beginning or Im trying something not possible to achieve? Jordi Torres
If they all start at the exact same location they should remain in sync with each other, as long as none of them are SMPTE-locked. J.
Jordi Torres
Before we go any further, please add your Logic version and system info to your signature as per our forum rules: Forum Rules - please READ THIS before posting (#5) and went to the menu Audio>Adjust Region Length to Locators There's no such command in the arrange's audio menu...? Did I start it all wrong from the very beginning or Im trying something not possible to achieve? Well, you haven't approached it properly, no. Start from scratch. Import the tracks and don't smpte-lock anything, set the tempos manually (if you know where they occur) and play back with the click to see if the song tempo matches Logic tempo. All regions should remain in sync with each other when doing this. J.
