elastic
Hi Everyone, Just setting up my new focusrite saffire pro 40 but im having trouble sending audio out of my DAW (logic pro 9), to my hardware compressor then back in to Logic. I have set my compressor up so that it goes out of the focusrite on channels 3/4 and back IN on channels 7/8, see like below - http://i415.photobucket.com/albums/pp240/tom4040/ScreenShot2012-12-17at214928_zps54b52847.png Can anyone explain why i'm not getting any audio going into the compressor? Thank you for any help.
redlogic
Open an Environment window Choose the Mixer layer Go to New > Channel Strip > Output This will create an Output 3-4 Channel Strip
elastic
Hmmm ok, I will try what you say but I don't think that's the solution. On my old interface I never had to do that, that was a presonus fire studio project, there's no real difference with this one.
Jordi Torres
According to your image, you have DAW 1 and DAW 2 assigned to Line Outputs 3 and 4 in the Mix Control software. I'd say you need to set those to DAW 3 and DAW 4. J.
elastic
No, both suggestions above have not worked. I am using the I/O plugin to route the audio to my compressor and back in again. It appears that it's something to do with my audio interface i think.
shivermetimbers
I use the presonus fire studio project and I bypass the 'Universal Control software mixer' because I am not sending out different monitor mixes. Basically, it is set up so that the inputs/outputs are directly connected to my DAW inputs/outputs. The I/O utility plug in works great for this set up. The Focusrite should allow you to do the same if you have no need for separate monitor mixes.
