Where does logic store its sounds on the hard drive?

You mean you are upgrading from 8 to 9? The installer will "know" what is already installed and it will leave everything that hasn't changed (mainly the sound content: sampled instruments and Apple Loops) as it is.

But, to be extra safe, open your existing projects and save 'm again including all assets. If any of the instruments have changed after the upgrade, you will still have copies of the "old" versions right inside the folder of the project they are used in.

ok are the particular stock sounds/instrumentals that are within logic are they stored in particular folders on the mac, I think the laptop i purchased has a compromised version of logic on it, and I want to keep the work I have already made when I purchase the real version, do you think I will have any issues with the projects when I install the real download of logic pro. thanks
