Reaktor 5 + Logic drama

Hi guys,

I've had problem for a while and i can't seem to solve it.

I'm using the latest version of Snow Leopard, 16g ram and an i7 processor operating Logic in 32bit mode and can't play any factory instruments out of NI Reaktor 5. I have a few add ons like Prism, The Finger and Spark which all seem to open up fine, first time every time. It's coming to the factory players like Lazerbass, etc where I'm having this problem.

If i open up the "Instruments" folder from the side menu and select "Synthesizers", the factory plugins are visible in the list menu below. If i add one of these instruments to my ensemble the plugin wont play.

if i open up the "Ensembles" folder and select "Synthesizers", the factory plugins are also visible in the list menu below. If I add some of these instruments to my ensemble, they play fine. This only works with a handful of the instruments though.

Does anyone know what's going on here? I didn't have this problem when I was running Reaktor 4 on Leopard

Thanks,

Stefan

I hope I've interpreted your problem correctly.

Instruments in Reaktor (with the extension .ism) are for creating ensembles, and won't be playable within Reaktor until you've turned them into ensembles. If you want an immediately playable "instrument" you need to load an ensemble (extension .ens).

So go to the Synthesizer folder which contains ensembles and load one up. Don't worry about loading an instrument (.ism) first or at all.

Prism, The Finger and Spark are Reaktor Player instruments and are different (if closely related) beasts from ensembles. You can save them as ensembles if you have the full version of Reaktor.

thanks for the replies.

reddog: that's what i've been doing at the moment and it seems to work with a few of the factory players (they don't open in the Kore player either...).

i'm not too worried about them as i don't use them often enough but i wouldn't mind them working since i payed for it lol

Atlas007: not what i've ever done but it was a good watch! thanks for that, learnt something very new
