Janis
There is no visible record-enable button in the Mixer window for software instruments, only for audio ones. Is that supposed to happen? I need the record button there to use the Group function to record-enable all tracks at once (alternatively, is there a way to use the group function from the arrange screen?) Eriksimon
Rightclick or ctrl click in any unused part of any track header and you'll get a small configuration menu. Good tip normally, but not what was asked here.

Hi Software Instrument channel strips do not display a Record ® button in the Mixer or the Inspector. Grouping the Channels with the Record function ticked in the Group Setting window seems to work OK though. CCT
Janis
Thanks! That worked. Probably inconvenient for some, since now you cannot select tracks without record-enabling, but for my purposes that's actually better.
