strikingtwice
So the sounds that came with old soundtrack logic and FCP were still caf, but were apple lossless encode. The new ones that come with fcpx and logic, while the same, are all AAC. Is there a lot of quality loss? THey're both 48k, and seem to sound the same, but i'm talking about stretching and whatnot. In fact, i can probably free a ton of space up. Is the library that comes with both version the exact same content wise? It would save me a lot of time searching around my drives if someone knew that answer.
Eric Cardenas
The AAC files are probably Lossless files. Try opening one in QuickTime and press Command - I.
jtees
I'm fairly certain that the new download version now uses 256kbs acc lossey loops, whilst the old boxed version used 44.1k - 16 bit lossless apple loops, hence the main differences in size between the two packages.
