Why can't I create a crossfade?

I have had this happen a few times since the upgrade to 9.1.8 too. It usually goes away if I right click and select remove fade, but you have to do it to both regions at the end where they overlap. Then try to drag out a new crossfade.

That didn't work one time, so instead I went and deleted all the fade files; then redid them.

Both of those have worked for me. Hope it helps.

Removing fades didn't help and I don't want to delete fade files, because there are other fades in the project that I want to keep.

I also noticed that after relaunching Logic the visual preview of the waveform in the first region had changed. The audio file is still the same, a reversed cymbal, but it looks just like the second region, which is a normal cymbal. Minor bugs, but yet they straight piss me off everytime. Maybe it's because I paid for a pro software, but it doesn't act like one.

If I'm not mistaken, deleting the fade files won't alter the work you've done previously. The parameters for existing fades are kept intact and the files derived from those fades are re-rendered. Those files are audio files that are kept in the project folder.

Thanks for the help, guys, but I think I found out what caused the problem. See, I had placed the anchor point of the reversed cymbal all the way to the right to make it snap right on where it ends. So technically both regions were exactly at the same position (at least in the event list), which may be too confusing for Logic to create crossfades. With different anchor and region positions the crossfade tool works as it should.

I'm glad I asked though, because I learned some new stuff about Logic once again!
