danyg
Hi there, when I bounce in place a track logic adds the new track. Is there way to do a bounce through an output "x" to HD and add that track automatically without dragging it from the HD to the arrangement window? Thanks
David Nahmani
Not through an output channel, no. But you could go through a bus, and set an audio track's input to that bus to record it.
danyg
Hi David, I don't get it. The Bus has no "Bnce" button. I have to use menu "File, Bounce". But in this case it only adds to "Bin" but not to the arrangement as a new track (like the BIP function does)
claesbjo
What do you want to achieve? Why isn´t bounce track in place working for you? External hardware inserts?
danyg
example: (no ext hardware) I have track1 + aux send FX + aux send FX going each one to bus 1 and to out 1-2 and I want to print it like that. I usually solo this group on bus 1 and I bounce out 1-2. I navigate to the HD and I drag the new track into the arrange window. BIP gives me the new track right underneath the old track. (I know, it's just one single track). My question: Can I save time by printing the group "bus 1" and import it to the arr window on a new track "automatically" ? I guess the answer is "no"
Jordi Torres
My question:Can I save time by printing the group "bus 1" and import it to the arr window on a new track "automatically" ? I guess the answer is "no" Not with Logic on its own...but with the help of a scripting program like the free Sikuli Script: And here's the script (it reflects that my "Bounce..." command is set to Option-Command-B and my "Add to Arrange..." command to Control-comma): For this specific script I had to make sure three things were done before hand (no big deal, but I guess those can be scripted as well): 1-Solo the track 2-Set locators 3-Visit the Audio Bin once to make sure the "Add to Arrange..." command was already set to "Create new tracks". 4-Make sure the region is NOT selected. 5- Check "Add to Audio Bin" in the bounce window (if it isn't checked already) As you can see, you never knew what hit you J. danyg
that's cool man. I got it working 50% I wrote the script in Sikuli Script and Logic is bouncing the file and adding it to the BIN but it doesn't create a new track. What is your point 3 saying? Where is this option? Jordi Torres
What is your point 3 saying? Where is this option? The "add to arrange..." command. It's a command to add audio files from the Audio Bin to the Arrange (Audio File menu > Add to Arrange). J.
danyg
I found "Add to Arrange" in BIN. But what do you mean by " ...command was already set to "Create new tracks" There's nothing to set for "add to arrange" ??? Please help me I'm slow today ...grrrr. sorry

If you enter that command (Add to Arrange...) you get this other dialog a second later: This is why the Add to Arrange command has three little dots at the end...it means "we're not done yet". As you can see, it defaults to "Use existing tracks" (at least in my system) J.

Jordi Torres
Make sure the key commands you enter in Sikuli match your actual key commands in Logic. J.
